Bandera Road Corridor Plan, Phase 1

Owner
City of San Antonio

Location
San Antonio, Texas

The Bandera Road Corridor links northwest San Antonio and Leon Valley with downtown San Antonio and connects many crosstown routes with the Medical Center and the city center. The cities of San Antonio and Leon Valley imagined a sustainable, attractive and complete corridor which will accommodate multiple modes of transportation to appeal to residents, visitors, businesses, and investors. This corridor plan will guide public and private development to lay the foundation for a robust local economy anchored by new construction and redevelopment.

Our team studied multiple components of the corridor: land use, visual characteristics, transportation, public transit, and the pedestrian environment.  We also performed market analysis for existing conditions and benchmarked those conditions against peer regional and programmatic corridors. The review provided an understanding of the economic, investment, and policy trends that define the real estate conditions in the corridor and region.   The work was supported by a robust public involvement plan and was  completed in coordination with a TxDOT project studying the corridor right-of-way and potential solutions to ongoing congestion issues.
