Working in conjunction with Facility Programming & Consulting, Work5hop created several early architectural concepts for the location, layout and style of a new Arts & Media Building. To help university staff visualize the massing of this new facility and its relationship to its context, we analyzed the requirements of the major program elements, including multiple large performance and event spaces, alongside connections to pedestrian traffic, parking and a prominent drop-off/pick-up site. Ample green space and shading strategies, as well as a focus on outdoor sculptural art were incorporated into our placemaking approach.
